This thing was a steal, but it also needed a shitload of work

Absolute hoot to drive.

Huge amount of help from @VPT02

Ideas for making it faster & handle better?
I'd like less body roll, I wonder I'd the mk4 evo springs are a bolt on affair?

Boost onset is a little slow, still hits 15psi and even overboosts in 4th gear at WOT (17- 18 psi) So I'm a bit hesitant to crank the shit out of the wastegate until I know it's working properly
I was watching the price drop on it - was crazy cheap, possibly because the seller was putting silly looking numbers on the ad that made it look like a fake asking price (like when people put $123456 on Facebook ads).

Big rear swaybar is good.
CE Lancer/Mirage shocks fit, but most of them don't have a mount for the front swaybar. Evo10 struts and shocks probably fit.
Back from a 1200 km trip yesterday to Mildura and back.

Average fuel consumption with the AC off was 7.8 L/100 with little traffic and a light right foot.
Average consumption on the way home was 8.1 with AC on and hammering along the Calder overtaking at WOT about 10 times.

Both averages were freshly reset and on Shell 98

Largely uneventful, apart from developing a misfire/hesitation at WOT in 4th and later 3rd when over taking coming back into Melb.
Happens when cylinder pressures are probably at their highest.

Spent a good chunk of last Thursday diagnosing a progressively worsening misfire, turned out to be a faulty batch of GENUINE spark plugs snapping at the core and spinning around ever so slightly, this is not the first time ive seen an x40 turbo murder genuine plugs. Will open it up again and see if these plugs have met a similar fate, otherwise will be trying some NGKs and a fresh fuel filter.

Will be acquiring a thicker rear bar, doing strut tops and bearings later in the week, and looking into a fuely smell from the back of the car (suspect fuel pump O ring or a cracked fuel pump carrier assy)

Loving the car at the moment, although it is just a little bit narrow for comfortable arm resting on the door during long trips, the 850 is just too good in that dept.

Absolute cracker of a sled though, would love to see how much room it has in the fuelling department to ad an extra PSI or two, tighten up the old wastegate a bit and see how much the now 403K motor will crank out.

Which rear swaybar are you referring to?
The CE Mirage ones?
Ultra Racing. Same rear bar for a Proton Waja and x40 (and possibly other Protons).
