rickysullivan I'm looking to buy a 2001 S60. I checked out this car yesterday, but ran out of time (screaming child) when looking for the top tether anchor points to attach my child's car seat. I called the local dealer in my area and because of it's vintage, he wasn't a great deal of help. Were the anchor points in the rear shelf optional back in 2001?
timbo Pretty sure by that point they all had iso fix points on the back of the seat. I know the v70/XC70 definitely did
rickysullivan As far as I can tell, there were two models of the same seat. One that used the seatbelt, the other was ISOFIX system. Because the car I was driving at the time was old and didn't have ISOFIX, I opted for the standard version. I need to double check this is the case.
timbo I'm sure you could still use the seatbelt to mount it. You get a little adaptor to turn the seatbelt into a lap style https://www.babybunting.com.au/safe-n-sound-gated-buckle-3-bar-slide-0215.html?utm_source=AdwordsPLAS&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=AdwordsPLAS&istCompanyId=3c86f967-aae2-4d33-bda3-427214422aa1&istItemId=xtwmrpxxqw&istBid=tzww&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImbzShruN2gIVkTUrCh2EPAbvEAQYBCABEgJsG_D_BwE
rickysullivan I have this component already. Securing the base of the seat is fine. It's the top part of the car seat that I'm having issues with. There are two tether straps that extend from the top of the car seat, which are secured into an anchor point, which is either in the boot (hatch style cars), on the parcel shelf (sedans) or behind the seat (I've only seen this in my father-in-laws Alfa).
Chris A quick Google suggests it may have 3 anchor points. Picture wasn't huge so hard to tell but maybe underneath the parcel shelf rather than on top.
Spac Based on the other Volvos I have owned, I would be amazed if it had less than three anchor points built in.
Ex850R The back of seat one will be covered with upholstery or carpet, you need to find it and punch through to screw in the generic seat mount point thing. On subject of S80, beware gearbox failure rate. Later model v50 or s40 are really cheap.

rickysullivan Car is booked into a local mechanic to have an ⚓ installed. They're going to drill a hole as nothing existed in the car.
