Skandix order arrived this morning. Flywheel has a bit of surface rust over it, but I guess that's just what steel does... It will never look this shiny again.

The rest of my order:
Flywheel bolts, pilot bearing, Thermostat and water pump o'rings, expansion tank cap, door handle seals and a razor blade in case things don't go to plan ?

Wow that flywheel looks nice! Tempting to just buy a new one instead of risking second-hand ones I have for my upcoming projects... :)

I think I got the last one. On the website they said more were coming in 1-11 weeks...a bit ambiguous.

I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with something?:
There are no markings on this flywheel and I was wondering about installation/orientation. Am I correct in thinking that you need to have the engine at TDC and the gap on the EZK trigger wheel showing at the beginning of the starter motor housing?

Also, it would seem that the pressure plate has a white mark on it that would (could) align itself with the crank angle sensor, if positioned correctly. Does this seem right to you?

Sorry I’m not sure about the flywheel alignment to crank. I think I’ve read something similar to what you’re stating there but hopefully somebody else will reply to confirm. Regarding the pressure plate - there should be some dowel pins in the flywheel and the pressure plate holes should align with them obviously. The orientation of the pressure plate doesn’t really matter to anything as far as I know so you may be able to install it on the dowel pins in a number of different positions.

I looked at the price of the flywheel - wow - something like $700AUD+ shipping. I think I’ll take a chance on my used ones!

@carnut222 it's about $670 shipped to your door. I made the mistake of calculating the additional 20% VAT that doesn't apply for non European purchasers. I think you've done the same. We need more dished flywheels in the country ??

Yep cylinder 1 at TDC and the gap on the flywheel lined up somewhere in the starter hole. Doesn't matter exactly where in the hole, it's either in the hole or way out in the wrong spot.

That green o'ring doesn't seem like its thick enough to seal the oil cooler properly. We will soon find out :anguished:

Sorry I may have missed it earlier in the thread, but that looks like a water-cooled oil cooler? Vs. the 740T (B230FT) type that circulates the oil through an external oil cooler. Interesting. Is the extension housing same as 740T one?

The water cooled setup was in 92+ 940/740 turbo models
The last year for oil cooled was 91
The water cooled setup is imho superior as you get oil warming in the winter as much as cooling in the summer. It's also much less prone to leaks than the early setup

Soon to be 2.3 16v. I have set myself the challenge of having it completed within 1 year...it has been written.

16 valve build was replaced with b230et swap. But it looks like I'm on track and my 1 year challenge was realistic.
In all seriousness, this swap could be done in a few days if you had a plan and the skills to pull it off. I have been trying to get this 360 as good as I can get it, with a strong focus on steering, suspension, brakes and renewing all serviceable components. Honestly, I have had a lot of fun doing it all so far and really look forward to its completion.

Because my donor car had an auto trans.
On LH2.4:
Pin 14 for the Air-conditioning +
Pin 30 for the neutral/Park position switch, will need to be earthed to achieve a steady idle.

Prepping her diaphragm for some upcoming action.
Removed the A/C components and heater box. I believe I have almost everything ready except a downpipe... Will have to borrow some welding skills from a friend and some patience...

Bought some steel bar and will be looking to mount the intercooler soon. I've rested it on the car for the photo, it will mount about 150mm higher than in the pic. Perfect intercooler for the job!
I will be using the existing A/C condenser brackets to mount it to the body. I got the idea from Ride-on (Tony) at 300mania. The second pic is the supports he made up for the intercooler (left two).
And the last is his intercooler mounted to the car....space is tight!

This is a truly awesome build.

Wondering though why you chose to go with a dog-dish LH 2.4 flywheel and not a TTV or lightweight flat one? The brand new dog-dish is a big investment.
