Turbo-back exhaust is booked for thursday! Caliper rebuild kits are on their way and I've also ordered some slotted and dimpled brake discs to be used with Brembo pads. Should all be here by the end of the month :+1:

Great! What calipers do these have? Are they similar to 240? I had a lot of fun rebuilding the calipers in my 1800ES last year - lots of stuck pistons. Hopefully you'll be able to get your pistons out OK.

@carnut222 I'm not sure about the calipers, all i know is they are of the single piston variety. I'm hoping It will all be fine, but I'm prepared for a battle.

Lucky - at least only one piston per corner! The ES like 240s has 4 on each front and 2 on each rear...so lots more fun!

Update on surging idle issues:

I bought a second-hand IACV from berry motor group and it's fixed the idle issues.

Edit: idle issues retuned - likely related to the 3-1-1 code it's triggering (speed sensor signal). For now, my irrigation plumbing will have to do.

If you think the pistons might be sticky, I’d recommend removing the brake pads and putting in some super thin worn pads or a thin bit of wood or metal and pressing gently on the pedal to force the pistons part way out...not all the way though or you’ll lose all your fluid.

@carnut222 That's some good advice. Ive seen that technique used before with two people and the caliper removed from the disc, and it looks quite effective. I'll be replacing the brake hoses while I'm at it, so I'll likely be clamping the lines and removing the calipers, but I'll definitely use the technique you've suggested.

I've just picked up the 360 from the exhaust shop. I got a 2.5" turbo back system with a sports muffler and I gave them a 200 cell magnaflow cat to put in. I went to Roadway mufflers in belconnen, and they did a great job. Better flowing than the factory pea shooter, so-much-so that I was checking the boost gauge to make sure the extra 'zzzing' wasn't coming from me over-boosting. What a difference it makes!

Nice! If I could find an exhaust shop that did good work like that I wouldn't hack away at my own exhaust systems...but I probably would wince at the cost! ;)

Yeah, I paid $1000 for this system + $150 for the cat. There isnt a whole lot involved but I can definitely see where the money goes. I bought a prefab Krona exhaust for the saab 9-5 aero I built for my mate and that cost $2250! But it was beautiful in every way. Regardless of the cost, I'm very pleased with what it did to my 360. It's the cherry on top of the cherry cake.

Yes, when you get what you paid for it's rewarding. Often it's a let-down, but in your case it looks awesome!

My new engine turned 1000kms last night!

My gauge cup arrived and I was having difficulty finding a suitable place to mount it. It ended up to the left of my fuel gauge.....slightly.

I cant wait to give this thing a new paint job. It looks good in photos, but the paint around the car is about a 4/10.

The tyre shine around the car is a 10/10 ? thank **** for tyre shine.

I also bought a later model spoiler from mark at Berries when I was in Melbourne last year. These spoilers look great and I had to have one.
