splicing into indicator wire to make them flash with aftermarket central locking

ive recently fitting an aftermarket remote central locking kit to my 164 which is working fantastically however it provides a 12v pulse wire to cause the indicators to flash with the press of the remote.

ive tried connecting to the wires coming out of the hazards button and the flasher unit but for some strange reason it makes the fuel pump prime rather than causing the indicators to flash.

would anyone know which wires I need to splice into in order to have the indicators flash

You'd need to splice the wires coming out of the hazards relay (87?), I believe, if your central locking kit does the pulsing itself. I think it can actually be kinda annoying to do. On my old 740 I decided to make it flash the parkers instead as it was easier to wire.

It's weird that connecting it to your hazard switch output primes the fuel pump though. That seems wrong!

Does the hazard switch make the pump prime in time?

Yes the wire coming off the CL module does the pulsing and when connected to wires off the flasher unit the pump primes in sync to what should be the flash

With the hazard i did it by ear and could hear on most of the pins it would prime the pump

I wired mine into the output wires of the indicator switch itself inside the steering column shroud. Works fine.

I meant pin 87, if there is one. But Rob's comment is more useful as he knows 164s better
