Hey all,

I'm thinking of extending the ECU loom so that I can re-locate the ECU into the cabin.
I'm not wanting to cut and join any wires. I want it to be as plug and play as possible.
Does anyone know of any ECU plugs that exist? I'm happy to make up the loom and push the crimps into the plug, I just need the plug.

As for why? I'm not too happy with how hot the ECU gets. I couldn't touch it yesterday.
I know that the ECU overheating isn't really an issue on these cars, (even after taking it out of the airbox like I have), but if making up a new loom isn't too hard, then I'd sleep a lot easier knowing that it is in a cooler location.

I just have to find the damn plugs......

Thanks.
There is potential for introducing lots of problems. First of all increasing the resistance on the canbus would be the main one.

Never extend
The CAN-Bus in a vehicle, like any other electronic circuit, represents a specific resistance or, better still, impedance which is determined amongst other things by the length of the wiring harness of that specific car model and it makes a balanced circuit. For this reason it is of the utmost importance to keep the wiring of the device to be connected as short as possible.
^ Exactly this, I'm having issues in the XC now (no communication / no starting) because either the ECU is fried (I am awaiting on a few new ECUs to come back from the states) or because I cut and shut part of the CANBUS wiring when doing the man conversion, it no longer has the correct resistance it used to. If ECU does not fix it I will be forced to replace the entire wiring loom in the car. Best advice, don't touch it.
