hi guys i have a volvo 740 in need of a main fuel pump replacement, can i change it without jacking up the car ?, and i was wondering if anyone has a picture of the fuel pump so i know where it is, or a video on how to change one on a volvo 740

It and the filter live under the car, if you're skinny you might squeeze under there without a jack...there are 3 bolts securing a carrier for pump & filter. Drop it down, unplug wiring, disconnect fittings & swap pump. There are copper washers to consider either side of the banjo fittings. Open-ended spanners generally make a mess...

Yeah, thanks guys, I ended up rolling the car onto the driveway curb, so that there was a decent gap underneath, It turns out I didn't need to jack the car up, after the replacement, we realised it wasn't the pump, so we replaced the coil, spark plug cables, and then the thing it turned out to be was the spark plugs, lol, I would have never guessed it, the 740 GL is fixed BUT..... now my 740 HP has just died it starts for around 2 seconds like a lawn mower at a very low rpm and shakes like crazy and when I put load on the accelerator it cuts out(dies) and now it won't even fire, though I can smell petrol while I'm cranking it, I strongly think that I killed the in-tank fuel pump
