Joel 157k kms and no I have not flushed the transmission yet. I'm in Sydney. I don't see how an intermittent harsh engagement of drive from park/neutral could be mounts?
2002V70XC If it drives ok and no flares/jerks when driving then you shouldn't need to replace the valvebody yet. If it slips and bang into gears when driving then that would be a big problem. Do a fluid flush first and see how it goes. All these problems seem to be coming from the valvebody when there are very fine metallic particles that somehow got into those valvebody solenoids and causing them to stick when pulsating at operating temperature. I'm surprised that these newer models also got tranny issues. I thought Volvo would have fixed the issues by using newer trans.
str1138 Has this been resolved? Looking at buying a 2012 XC60 D5 but an inspection turned up the same problem...
Joel I flushed the transmission twice by dumping the fluid, replacing the same volume, running the car for a bit then repeat. After that the clunk happens much less and it was intermittent to begin with. I will probably flush again after next oil change.
