How to sell my Volvo

Hi,

I have a Volvo S70 1999, I have owned it for 2.5 years and as it’s time to let it go, I wondered if anyone might be able to help me with some tips on how to sell my Volvo including what information and description is necessary in order to make a post online.

Any tips would be much appreciated,

Hi Chava,

I have had most luck selling my cars on gumtree. You seem to get more traffic there than on carsales and ebay and unlike the aforementioned, gumtree is free (unless you choose add upgrades)
It's also worth posting it here to the forum in this for sale section you've posted this thread. Even if you don't get a buyer you usually get feedback on the car and how fairly you have priced it.
I don't know if you are on facebook but i have also sold some cars on the numerous "buy, sell, swap" pages. Again this is free to advertise and you get a lot of views.

Information to include in your add:
- pictures
- location
- year, model
- transmission
- kilometres
- features, optional + aftermarket
- service history?
- major work done? gearbox etc..
- registration expiry
- known issues with the car

Asking for "offers" is a great way to waste lots of time (yours and others), while greatly reducing your chances of actually selling the car.

Always put a price on it. If you are unsure of what to ask, then get onto Gumtree and pretend that you are looking to buy an S70. Look at other cars around the same price that you're thinking of, and then ask yourself whether you'd buy your car instead of the others. This can be a very sobering experience, but it will save a lot of frustration when you wonder why nobody is calling about the car that you have priced far too high.

And on Gumtree, expect a lot of scammers. If it seems like a scam, it almost certainly is. If you are unsure, then google for it.
