Taz418 Gday guys. Recently got a manual conversion done but still have my automatic wiring loom in. need to do some wiring changes yet i cant seem to find a good manual diagram to help. Anyone able to help out? Cheers
Taz418 @Rob @jamesinc My v70r is a 1997 Within the engine bay, i need to run a wire from the manual transmission into the engine looms plug, which is located down near the airbox. I need to locate the neutral plus hole and reserve plug hole as its the automatic wiring harness. This is what i have been told however im very new to this type of wiring and have limited knowledge.
nickm Maybe the 850 is similar pretty sure it is the same Transmission and PNP switch. https://volvoclub.org.uk/tech/service/850/SystemWiringDiagrams.pdf volvotips.com/index.php/850-2/volvo-850-s70-v70-c70-service-repair-manual/volvo-850-wiring-diagrams/
Rob Hey, yeah. I have done this conversion a number of times. it is really quite simple 1. Make sure you have removed the auto trans computer 2. Pull the back of that plug apart. Join the Green wire to the Green/Red wire (that is the neutral safety switch bypass) 3. While you are in there cut the Blue and Blue/White wires as close to the back of the plug as possible, these are for the reverse lights, hook them up to the reverse light switch on the manual trans, you may need some extra wire and a plug) 4, Make sure you have wired in the clutch pedal switch (in parallel to the brake switch) 5. Pull out the cruise control relay and chop off pin 3T and refit it, (this will allow your cruise control to work) You can leave the old auto plug in place or cut it off, up to you.
