I'd be prepared to bet that the head gasket has actually failed on this old girl. That's not to say that the water pump may not have failed but a failed HG is a more likely scenario. In all fairness to the advertiser, it's quite a complex job to access the pump and properly check it. Call it a hunch but the cost difference between a failed pump and a HG is significant. You would want to be sure.
