Terry;122024 wroteI concur - marketing hype - though if I were going to replace my globes, the Narva Platinum Plus 130 would be my choice. Price on that eBay link is good. Looking at Supercheap or Repco, you are probably paying nearly 2x if you walk in the door and get them off the shelf. It's not a biggie to replace them (Pg179 handbook) in the headlamps but may be beyond your skill or confidence level but for a local garage it would be less than 30 mins (a guess). You might like to look at www.narva.com.au. H7? Pg234 handbook. Nu6:24? Took a punt you might recognise a blessing when you saw it. :)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....ha ha...thank you for explaining. Have sent you a message.
Re the globes, I shall look up the handbook and see if I can feel the fear and do it anyway lol. I guess if I am careful then how much can go wrong (famous last words....).
Ok, nearing overwhelm with number of variables.
Surely those different globes are not identical are they? I mean why would the company differentiate them with specific sounding names? How do others decide which to select I wonder?
Do they come in warm and cool lights? I know for indoor lighting I detest cool lights as they make everything look so cold and clinical or is it better to have cool head lights?
Ok so I looked at the bulbs that you and Vee_Que are kindly recommending. It seems there are two in a pack so I need only one pack, correct? Should I be changing the low beams too if the high are so pathetic?
I've a friend in Clunes who knows about cars though not Volvos. Having said that, I fear asking a friend to help me. It's been my experience that occasionally men, present company excluded of course, struggle to say they don't know when they don't and I have had a few things broken as a result. At least if I do it myself, I'll be gentle, won't force anything have no trouble admitting ignorance.
