Hey guys am chasing all the chrome trim around the side windows if any one has any I think they came from the early 244 or 140's?
Pic's fro attention for the trim but looking for chrome.

I can supply a full set, the pieces on the doors are a direct fit, however note that the earlier models with the chrome trim have a different setup for the quarter windows. They have a rubber seal around the window, which the chrome fits into.
The later cars have the window glued to the body using sealant, and the trim sits over the outside.
Is the car pictured yours? It has the 264GLE gutter trim, rear quarter trim etc. and if it's removed to fit the early quarter windows, you'll end up with missing trim around the rear section of the rain gutter, and below the quarter window.

Thanks Angus,
No it's a pic I pulled off the Web, mine has this hideous molding on the doors and all the bright work on them has been damaged or removed, will grab a photo tomorrow in day light which will better explaine it, it's an 1981 264
Cheers

An '81 264 should have the same trim as in the pic, but I'll wait to see your pics.
I actually went the other way on my '74 164E, and installed 264GLE window trims (and later quarter windows):

Around the windows are the same but it's missing the chrome trim from the sills and it has the standard 240 waist line trim, which I'm debating to do away with. Will take the photos tomorrow which will better show what I'm on about.

Just realised that's a 164

That's the usual '81-'83 264GLE trim, if you go to the '70's chrome trim you'll have some funky mismatched ugliness going on around the quarter windows, as I mentioned above.
Your options are:
Fit the full chrome gutter moulding from a '70's car, this isn't easy as it's almost impossible to remove it without damaging it. It's also too long to send using Aus Post.
Keep the 264's gutter trims, and fit the section of gutter trim that goes above/behind the quarter windows from an '86+ 240, which matches the 264 gutter trim, but doesn't form part of a full surround for the quarter window, as your 264 currently has. I should be able to supply all the parts needed to do this, including the early quarter windows and rubbers.
Or, if you want to keep the current setup, I should have the missing chrome strips here.

Hi @Angus242164 looks like I will go with the latter option and get the chrome parts and clips. Also the chrome door handle surrounds I'd you have them for a 164/264?. I will have yo double check what chrome parts are missing as there is stuff in the boot as well
Angus242164
No worries let me know, not sure if I have any of the chrome door handle surrounds left, but I have a fair bit of the 264 window surround stuff spare.
gavinh
Would it be to much hassle to get a photo of the stuff? As all my stuff is pitted real bad
Angus242164
I can certainly gather all of the trim I've got of that type and take some pics, It's all in one area of the shed and needs to be moved soon, so when I do that I'll take pics.

Cheers man, no rush, I would like to get OT like an early 240 and do away with all the black and have a body colour matching B pillar.

@Angus242164
This is the look um trying to go for around the windows. I do have the rear quarter glass.
Thanks gav
Angus242164
If you want to go to that style I have all the required pieces, and you can just remove the current gutter trims entirely to get the same look.
I have the quarter window surrounds of that type if needed as well.
gavinh
sorry for the stuff around @Angus242164 . there is no rush but can you get me a price for all the chrome strips along with the quarter windows strip etc and if you have them the chrome surrounds for the door handles.
cheers
