Anyone have an eprom programmer, or know someone? I'm thinking of putting a new eprom into the pink 561 ECU as a cheap spare, just in case. I'm interested what it would cost.
Also wondering if you have to use the original bin file. e.g. I have a 561 bin (same as original ECU), and a 951 bin (same as new ECU). I'm assuming the 951 code wouldn't run in the 561 ECU, but would it?

Does not just run
Thelostartof in the usa is the cheapest source if you want a tuned ecu

Why do you want to do it for is the question? Ostrich is the answer, but it's not exactly needed on a stock 240 with zero mods.

Just to have a spare ECU so I never get stranded like that again. (I phoned wreckers all over Australia and no-one, including Berry and Volwreck could help with a replacement - had to order it from the USA.)
No plans for upgrades, turbo, etc. - I just found the standard 561 bin file online, is all - and I have the ECU so figured why not repair it as a standby. I've opened the ECU and there's very little in there that can fail apart from the eprom - a couple of ICs I think, but mainly discrete components (resistors, capacitors, diodes).
Also figured if someone here ever has the same problem, they can pay postage both ways to confirm it's the problem and use it until a 951 arrives.
Oh - and wondered if the 951 code would work, just because it's newer.

The ecus are slightly different so my fully compatible.
