Not sure about the single carb (single exhaust outlet) type - they might have the olive.
Maniseal is pretty crap.
I'd unbolt the down pipe from the manifold and clean it all thoroughly. Then lift it back up against the manifold and see if it sits flat against it - if it is out by more than about 1mm, then look at the cause and fix it.
Then reassemble with a new gasket.
The single carb engine has a twin engine pipe. Pretty sure now I have a dodgy weld between the engine pipe and flange, will take it off and inspect.
