I'd check your fluid level first, if it's low then pull wheels and inspect for leaks. No leaks get a new master cylinder. All straight forward jobs if your able to properly bleed the fluid afterwards.
Thanks, i'll check the fluid levels. I only have the original wheel stand and toolset for changing a flat, would this be safe to use for removing my wheels and inspecting for leaks? it's from 1987 so i'm not sure how confident i'd be using it. I'm only a student and don't have the funds for a set of nice stands or a jack. I've recruited an old friend of mine to help me and let me borrow his jack if i need it though, but i'd rather not put him out like that if i can get away with using the stands.
