It's a diesel 2.4 1984 LN65 Toyota Hilux single cab, 4x4. 2" lift springs and axle under conversion on 31's. The guy I bought it off I work with and he's done a lot of work on it to make it safe to use since he bought it, but unfortunately he didn't buy a snorkel and he tended to go off-roading most weekends, Misjudged a section of mud and the engine sucked in water before he had time to turn it off.
As a result... there are 2 bent rods, the good news is it's not that expensive to fix in chassis and is do-able.
So the plan is, get running n/a. I'm pretty sure it's a turbo (need to go measure my rod small ends to make sure), put a turbo on it with intercooler, put some smaller tyres on 16's to make it better as a drive to work and general use vehicle, and go 4x4ing with mates who also have 4x4's.
Bought a 2l-T motor for a very low price, had a cracked head, but the 2l head that came with the car was good, pulled down engine and had the deck machined as well as the head, measured everything up and is in very good condition.
Short block is built now. HG being used is a good diameter for the pistons, std rings were well within tolerances as were bearings.
Photos in no partcicular order.
Engine being assembled.

Engine coming out.
Engine being pulled apart.
Turbo manifold and the n/a one. almost identical exhaust for the t3 flange.
Well it's running. and Running well. Started with few issues.
Fitted a snorkel of course, sealed up properly. Been working on sound deadening the interior as it's just loud, getting there thanks to tar matting and sound deadening from a land rover discovery, turns out they fit pretty closely and are common at the wreckers!
Done 1000km's in it now, achieving 10l/100km's for it, slow as hell, will be in my name very soon. Rebuilding a Nissan T3 Turbo to have a .48 housing instead of a .63 to get it to spool sooner, have my intercooler and EGT all ready to go on.
