Seems expensive for what it is. Last time I was around the redblock crowd it didnt cost 10k to build a 400whp redblock. I also dont think it will be making 400whp with that tiny turbo. I am also curious as to why they didnt replace the rods and just used standard ones when the rods aren't particularly expensive.
Not knocking it just discussing :)

It kinda sounds like knocking. The kl racing manifolds and other parts alone add up to over 5k, top spec cas is $450aud to start, manifolds are. $900 or more each, ms3 pro is over $1400, kg2t is $500. Plus professionally built adds a premium.
No mention of the turbo in the ad, so I think it's just an example? A gt30 would get the job done, with ported heads etc. But a bigger turbo would go further.
Disappointing on the stock rods, wrong way around.
But that built 16v with rods, manifolds and no ecu sold for 6200 . That has the cas unit too.

Maybe I'm naïve but $10k seems like a very expensive 400hp especially if the motor has never been run before which makes the power figure a speculation and not a fact. If it was 10k and was NA then I could see the value but a 10k turbo motor that makes a speculative 400hp...not so much.

No valve sizes or port sizes, but if done like a rsi stage 3 head, it's easily achieved. And would cost over a grand. Yld is a 300whp car we reckon with a stock motor and only an exhaust manifold. With the ms3pro. It has all the good features too that come on much more expensive ecus.
Balancing parts costs money and time too.

Either way I wish the seller good luck with the sale. Like I said I wasn't knocking the build I was just discussing it.

Says he was going to spend money on rods and pistons for the 2.5L crank. Was going to be using a GT35 turbo on it as well. Turbo not included in the sale.
Also, can that turbo manifold be run in either high or low mount?
Vee_Que
Not particularly, too much in the way going backwards.

I have no doubt that thing on MS3 could output 400hp+

Did this end up selling?
Vee_Que
Yes it apparently did.
