Gents,
I'm after an earlier model solid steering shaft to replace the fat rubberised one in my 1985 Volvo 240. I need it to gain some pipe clearance. Would like it with both uni's.
Let me know what you've got and what you want for it.

Depending how much clearance you need, the fat rubberised one can be flipped so the fat bit is at the bottom. In terms of a turbo redblock setup, this give enough room for a downpipe.

Thanks. I've already flipped it but it is still pretty tight. I could make it work, but it would be very close and I'm worried about melting it. The solid one is the best option for me, if I can get my hands on one.

Adam, Call Swedish Wreckers in Keilor and see what they have. I can arrange for it to be picked up and get it back to Geelong if need be.

Will do mate. If they are the one I'm thinking of (Slater Parade) I've got mates who work in that street anyway. Do you know which model(s) Volvo's they come in so I know what to ask for? All I know at the moment is they are a solid alternative and they are from 70's model somethings...

No problem.
I dont know which year has what combination of knuckle and flex-bits.
Probably see if you can speak with Frank - I think he is most knowledgeable on older 2 stuff.
Just tell him what you're doing and he'd be likely to be more help.
Also, drop Angus a PM. He has lots of stuff and may know exactly what you want and actually have it too.
