Bcs are not really worth it if they are the base model ones. You do get what you pay for there.

I actually quite like 5 spokes but couldn’t seem to find what I wanted in the right stud patten and size.

I stumbled onto these and actually really like this style of wheel and doing something different than everyone else is okay by me :)

I haven’t really decided yet. I don’t like the grey on grey look. I quite like the bronze colour for something different but the silver pops so I’m sort of leaning that way.

Size wise I was looking at 18x8.5 +45

I don’t mind waiting when I’ve got other stuff I can do in the meantime.

Next job is to get the car sorted at the panel beater (small ding in the bonnet). Then I can start to look at the engine performance side of things. The fun keeps on rolling!

I'm looking to get my Haldex fluids/filters changed. Am I best to get this done at a Volvo dealer or would an independent transmission shop be the best bet? I could probably (maybe) fumble my way through but I think I'd like to get it done right the first time.

Any recommendations in Sydney's Northern suburbs?

Do not use svm
Penrith Volvo are about the only dealer I trust in Sydney any more

Have them do a total can bus reload at the same time if you have them do it

Lupica in morebank or chris/John in Fairfield west are my recommendations for Indi mechanics who I know can do haldex correctly

What tyres are you running? I'm tossing up between the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 & Continental Contisport Contact 5.

I had been a fan of the Bridgestone Re003 but it seems technology has moved on and there's some better stuff out there now - according to some of the reviews out there.

Wheels will be arriving in April so getting close to ordering some.

RE003 is pretty good for its price point, but after about 30% of tread wear are fairly ordinary, particularly in the wet.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs Continental Contisport Contact 5, is a tough call. PS4 probably a little better when new and neither are a really long lasting tyre.
PS4S is really good but have a very short lifespan.

Yeah I’d heard re003’s are brilliant in the dry but not great in the wet. I guess I’ll keep an eye out on deals for contis and ps4s as i get closer to wheel delivery day and see which looks like better value. Both seem to have really solid reputations.

Small update - I refreshed the interior last month with some R-Design stuff (Shift knob, steering wheel and sport pedals). Ordered all the parts new from the US but the damn clutch pedal cover didn't fit. US website stated LHD & RHD fitment but their customer service didn't give a damn when I pointed out that there is a difference.

Fortunately I was able to just get the clutch pedal cover ordered from a local dealer. Strangely when I asked for a quote on a set of sport pedals from an Aussie dealer they were $220 but I could buy a single pedal cover for $40?? 3x40 = $120 by my calcs but in any case the problem got sorted inexpensively in the end.

Also wheels should be arriving soon - 6 months has gone relatively fast. Looks like I'll probably go with the Michelin PS4s but I'll wait until the tyres get here and see what sort of deals are going.

Other than that I need to get back to @AshDVS on some bushes and mounts that I'm looking to refresh.

I also need some hub centric rings for the wheels and some fresh wheel nuts.

I like the R design pricing from Europe I hadn't thought to look at ?? for them.
I wish the Mrsuss didn't like the fugly faux wood, faux metal plastic S80 tiller, an R design or even regular one would suit me, I can't stand touching the thing.

I did the R design wheel change on my C30. It was one of the best things I did. Completely transforms the way the car feels.
I wish I had the wood trim on mine too.
