Vent window latch

My driver's side vent window has come off. Now that it's off, I think it may have been repaired before.

What is the best way to reattach them? I'm thinking I should remove the glass so I can lay it flat on blocks, use Permatex rear-view mirror adhesive, clamp it and walk away.

Does this sound about right?

Dave, I glued the metal "buttons" on the latches for my early 145 rear quarter windows about 7 years ago and they're still holding. I used rear-view mirror adhesive as you suggest...give it a go.

^ 100% that, worked fine on old 144.

Back in the day, Volvo OZ recommended using the Motorcraft rear view mirror adhesive to re-attach the latch. That usually worked fine... if you kept the quarter vent window closed.

Later on, somebody - I don't know who - made up lip plates which fit on the bottom of the quarter vent windows on pre-74 140s and 164s, and that took care of the troublesome auto-seperation sequence of window and latch once and for all. Other folks adapted quarter vent latches from other vehicles to fit.
