Insurance is what it would cost Tomorrow to replace, or if a fair portion is damaged in her case of a 60s or 70s car. not what you can sell it for. I know of a 122 that was rear ended on one side. Fuel tank. Quarter panel, rear panel, and it needs to be resprayed to the door. Thats when insurance is good.

The point is, said 122 won't ever sell for 30k, but the damage above is valued at over 10k, just for a rear ender with not much of a hit in it.
