Hi all,
Just wondering who has 8.5 inch rims all round on their 940 and if so what are the wheel specs?
I've just found some wheels that come in 17x7 and 18x8.5 and im looking at the 18's.
Cheers!
I run 17x8 with a +12 offset on my wagon and it rubs due to stock panhard rod when near the bumpstops.
Iceton is on his 740. Eiker 18x7.5 If I recall.

Does ride very high unfortunately, although that can be remedied. Though the larger you go. The less clearance you have, especially when lowering.

I'm running an effective 17x9 front and rear on my 740, and needed to heavily massage my arches. I also ride very low static.

Thank you! Do either of you have photos?

What wheels? I'm really struggling to find any that will fit?

Mint, but those ford wheels need spacers otherwise I would of gotten XR5 turbo wheels

He flipped the rim barrel.

Yes, that's why I said I'm running an effective 9" after all, the Ford steel wheels are only 7.5" the track on my car is set to what a 9" tight fitment will run as.

17x8 from a merc e430 from the early 2000s
Running custom 25mm adapters with 14mm truck studs

blondejay;110375 wroteSo many wheels out there there.
I don't know why people struggle?
Hmm, if you don't want to use spacers and don't want to hack your guards, I would say there really aren't that many wheels available for the 2 & 7 series unless you want OEM used 14s, 15s, or rarer 16s, or even rarer Polaris. There's a few aftermarket 16s and 17s available, and of course the Eikers and those eBay "Retrolites"...but what else?
Does ipd still sell the Volans replicas for RWD offset? I have a black and a hyper silver set, both 17s...not elegant though as they sort of just have an additional "spacer" cast into the back side to make them the proper offset for RWD.
The "EV" with hyper silver Pegs:

The 1800ES with black Pegs:

I'm actually going back to these on the 1800ES as I think the black ones are a bit much. These are the "Auriga" 16x6.5:

IMHO the fewer spokes the better - easier to clean! But the mesh ones look great! I'm still eyeing those LED headlights for my 1800ES - are you still pleased with them? Are they nice and bright?
Super bright and clean light. Penetrate tonnes further than my 2017 Passat.

Wheels are always a very personal thing. There are also plenty of blanks out there
Thanks for the feedback on the lights @blondejay Just looked at eBay and damn, they've dropped from like $450 a pair to closer to $100 a pair since I last looked. Of course a lot are probably junk. Time to start reading some reviews...
