How did you get them in? I did it once,it didnt go in right so i checked...
At firt i was going to say you parked the trailer on the fence!
Get a CHRA from Kinegawa, put a genuine kit through it to replace its seals etc and mate it to your existing turbo? A 19T? Or 16T with 70mm outlet for good lower down power maybe.
Upping the boost with an MBC or EBC is great on the 2.4 motor , i love that motor!!
Four new tyres? I am running Hankook K117s on the T6 cos they rated neaerly up there with the best on a tyre test i researched and yes they are pretty good! Bit noisy but havent got any time in the car on other tyres.
Missus has LUAFEN tyres which are damngood on her S80 too! I am surprised at these affordable tyres.
Id normally say More expensive but relly , we dont race these things and they have AWD...
You got a strut brace? Great addition.
Ive got a couple of rear wings if ye want one lad.
Can send the intercooler with my fabricated special mounts but i suspect getting free psotage on a new one may be cost effective , i can take pix of the mounts and deets on how i mounted it ( not hanging off the radiator , so not wrecking the plastic side tanks on radiator that take all the weight...)
Ive got silicon too for the pipes , and alloy tube to make up your own big bore RIP kit.
Hit me up , im dumping all my P80 stuff.
Oh , you got electric adjust headlights? I got the motor bit.

@Ex850R pm you

All this turbo stuff us new to me so might be asking some really stupid questions

Ex850R
Yeah, may as well get whole thing so you get bigger outlet hotside. Costs more but its a now off cost. My ecu I have is set up for this iirc. Bigger downpipe and free up the exhaust too.
I've got a part for your awd system too man, brand new, don't even remember what it's for but... Can get pix.

Took me a while to get that one, it's next doors trailer, they are obviously the high side

The whole kits and kaboodle there, just reading up about the Mbc valves, will It be to excessive bolting that on? With out upgrading rods etc?
Ex850R
It's already got a 70mm exhaust out let so better, plus less mucking about just bolt it in. My ARD Green tune ecu is for a 19T.
The one above may have the special turbine wheel to stop compressor surge at higher boost but you don't need too much with your motor anyway. Once you bump it a bit and free up charge air and exhaust it will go well.
Maybe the 19t is overkill? I'm not sure how far you want to go on mods but if you want higher horsepower I have H beam conrods in a box here as well...
From what I understand there isn't a big change from 15g to 16T but to 19T its bigger step. The extra cc and compression in your motor is a bonus, that's why enjoyed screwing up the MBC on my v70t, epic grunt!

A 13 to 15g/16t will be a relatively large increase with the bigger intercooler, piping etc. We are still looking at it for a dd as the missus still drives it to work and back etc. We are not looking for and record breakers, just the power when needed when towing, over taking from low revs.
What boost are you running, from my understanding the stock 13 is stupidity low

18t just because cost is the same and run 12psi ftw
Stock is 7psi I think
Ex850R
I'm just considering the cost of a used 16 or 18 as opposed to new 19 for same monies is all.
I ran as much boost as I dared... Seeing how far I could push that engine, no Guage.. Fun!
All your mods sound like good, easy and cheap enough. So get a good turbo and the mods will be fine to support it and release the ponies trapped, should be fun!
I do have what I expect was a good turbo with new bits on it, off an S70T5 but auto so may be a 15G,no badge on it.

I have a kit for the 15g/V70t5 that came with my 122, so picking up a s/h one putting a kit through it and getting it ballenced is what I was looking at. I don't want to go stupid and end up fucking it up, also the awd side should be able to keep up with the mods as I have hopfully covered most of the bases with my stage0.
gavinh
@Ex850R out of interest did you have the Mbc valve before the tcv or after?
Ex850R
Unsure Gav, I'll find my sketch I have with it.

I still want one of these v70xc's. Good size package with some mountain goat awd abilities. What's yer average fuel economy again?
gavinh
Have to admit, it the longest volvo I have owned 6/7 years and probably the most versatile as well. If they only bought out a 4wd or awd 245 with an inch or twos extra clearence with a white block.....now that would have been great.
Anyway as I diverse I think 11-12l per 100km in the city longer runs about 9-10ish?? Honestly it doesn't bother me what I get its a very comfortable car in reality it's probably cost $500-600per year to maintain, that includes a top end rebuild.
Just got to work out what go faster bits I want now.

So been a while, car is still going great and it's ready for it's 280,000km service when I get back home for rnr, albeit 2 little problems have raises its ugly head, 1abs/trax light on almost constantly ans lambda light on with the barometric sensor. Neither of which are causing any problems.
Since the car has been going so well and stopped going through oil since I found the annoying leak coming from the head, we are looking at takinging it camping with the trailer in tow.
Question, I have towed with this veichel a couple of times in the city, towing a car and trailer, this was heavy going on the car and the auto. So would this be a suitable tow rig for 1100-1500kg. I'm prepared for the slagging I'm gonna get.
But if I replace the rad, and install an additional trans cooler inline with the rad and put a pusher fan on it, either on all the time or through a star.
Obviously do a complete flush and possibly install an inline screw on filter, also change the angle gear fluid again.
All should be sweet.......? Anything else??
