Aye - it was a '107'. I couldn't decipher what it meant and've left the code book in the car and it's with my sweety - who has the car most now.
(Are S40's an alright car to own/operate? There a few with 100K Kms on 'em for $2000 to $2500).

Yes they are good little cars for not too many dollars.
Usual checks. suspension bushes, timing belts, and good maintenance.
Interior suffers from poor headlining.

The O2 light has returned. Accordingly I'll disconnect/wiggle the connectors and perhaps eventually get some MAP spray and show it who's boss.

Connectors may need a clean but in reality a new MAF is in your future.
Chinese copies work fine.
Unplug it but if not having issues then it's not the MAF.
Proper codes need to be read via VIDA and DICE Volvo scan tool. You can buy on eboy.
Could be CTS or cam sensor or crank sensor.
O2 sensors.

We bought the MAF cleaner - but now're stuck at the 5 star torx security pin.
I don't have good dexterity as I crushed my hand decades ago, so removing the tube is difficult/easy but mightn't get it back on.
Any tips where I can get one of these to use once in my life?

Just leave it on the air box lid, clean the whole lot.
Take lid and MAF off the tube, use small socket or Screwdriver to undo the tube clamp, it's annoying to pull off though..

Okiedokie. My sweetheart has the car now - 40kms away. Going there this arvo.
So, I can just lift the air box and then loosen the jubilee/hose clamp from the motor end and it'll came away? I like that option.
I was staring at it a lot on Wednesday trying for an easy solution like this. Will let yous know tomorrow thanks.

No fellas - I couldn't reef the bits apart after removing hose clip.
BUT,
we stuck some fuel injector cleaner in it and the light went out !!
It came back on again soon after.
Will get back to yous soon when I try ad separate the bits again..

Seeing Robert on Youtube - and he says it's alright to prise the MAF away from the airtube - going to my sweethearts this week so will hopefull finish the job and have another 'Solved'.
Or maybe not :-)

Prised MAF out of tube and drenched many times with the MAF cleaner. Lovely.
We drove nigh 1000Kms since and mainly Freeway, Wyong to Newcastle etc, got fuel down to 8.9L/100kms!
