So everyone is arriving at Parkes on Friday ? Well, I might as well drive whole day to Parkes by Friday then.
I think that I'll be driving up on the Friday, and back to Melbourne on Sunday.

745T is more my thing, Darc. Just prefer the wagon shape over the sedan...
That's fair enough, I can understand that, it's also more fun to have a fast 740 wagon, and their not as square as the sedans either, the s90 front looks very good on 740 wagons B-)
Just a reminder that you will need to buy your NRMA cover by the 8th to be covered for the events...

P.S. the Tow slut will not be present to save your ass should your car fail

Good point, a few people should bring a car tow rope just incase it's needed ;)
You will have your learners by then darc?

Driving a manual is easy on a highway I always think.
It's easy all the time, unless you've got something with a stupidly heavy clutch and you drive in a lot of stop-start traffic.
I'm still a maybe at this point, hoping I will make it. I will probably head down the back way I think as it will probably be quicker.

Yeah, I'll have my learners in 12 days, but I'll be doing all the driving from melbourne to parkes in one day by myself, my mother hasn't driven a manual for 16 years, so she won't drive one, only autos, so the drivings up to me, I was thinking of putting cruise control on my black 740 t for traveling up to parkes, is it worth it?

Yeah the cars clutch isn't too bad, it does occasionally crunch in reverse though, and also Is occasionally hard to shift into first gear(it takes a lot of push),

Should I do an auto conversion on
My car before parkes? @Vee_Que

Nah, you will be fine on the highway in a manual 740. Even without cruise will be fine. Did 3500 kms 2 weeks after getting my licence in a manual 200b and didn't die.
It's good practice for when you do have cruise to not now when you are learning good habits about driving.
I had planned on making an appearance so you can include me in the numbers @James
Angus242164;18917 wroteI haven't been considering attending this, but it's been several years since I've done an interstate trip of any sort, and it could serve as a motivator to get the 245L finished, ready for the event.

If this does eventuate (no guarantee whatsoever at this stage), then I'll have a huge cargo area and would be more than happy to supply people with bulky parts from my own collection, or provide freight for other people's parts between Vic and the event.
My spare room is available, if you want to stay let me know!
