If retaining a stock (19mm) rear swaybar... in what way is traction and handling affected if a 27mm Falcon bar is fitted to the front?
Spac
More understeer, better drive traction coming out of corners.

One could always do the right ass TB way. And double up the factory sway bar.

Availability of 23 mm rear swaybar is quite good, but not for front bar in this size.
240s need strong control over the front end (struts and sway), and the rear faithfully follows with no oversteer.
Most/all Volvos are designed with some understeer as this characteristic communicates approaching limits of the chassis/package /vehicle momentum to the average driver etc.
and as Spac implies you can get on the gas again without the rear swapping ends.

I currently have 19mm rear and 21mm front, there is very little oversteer or understeer even when pushing the car, except in the wet, when it likes to oversteer if pushed.
So I gather that a 26-7mm up front would be worthwhile for body roll improvement, and a thicker rear bar would be ideal but not essential...
Where can 23mm rear swaybars be sourced?
Spac
Early GTs. GLEs also had thicker bars, but can't remember how big.

Ive got a 27mm EL falcon bar up front with the DVS adjustable links, a 23mm 242 GT bar in the rear, DVS 250 ft lb front springs and a 1 off set of 160 ft lb units in the rear
Front shocks are billy B6s and rear are stuffed stockies for now
225 45 17 RE003s all round and the car will still understeer before it will oversteer

Do you need the adjustable links for the El/Ef bar????

You do need to bash a few things to get them in. But nothing exciting.

Helpful information everyone thank you.
PS had to buy a set of brake pads this morning and with Nat rally coming I can't budget for a rear bar at the moment. In case anyone was waiting for me to put an ad up you can put your own up.
Thanks all
