I have the last of the previous shaped XC70 and I'm chasing some roof bars to fit onto the factory roof rails. Reasonable price welcome.

Are these likely to be the same as a 98 v70? If so I have them.

In saying that I would think they would be interchangeable
I'm not entirely sure on P2 or P1. The model I have is from about 2001 - 2007. The model changed in 2007 to the current shape. I'm pretty sure they all have the same roof rails so I think you're right, they are interchangeable. The later model must have different dimensions as they are listed as a different part number.
Things to watch for:
Some of the pre-2000 V70's had skinny roof rails, so the the roof rails are a smaller cross section (Ash's T5 has the skinny's) and the clamp's for later ones might not fit.
The 2nd Generation (P2's) are a slightly different width IIRC between the rails, and I can't remember if they're narrower or wider... I know that the 3rd generation can't use the pre-2000's cross bars (but can use the ones from the BMW E46...)

98 is skinny rail so will fit 850's and up to 98 x70's.
I don't know what size rail mine has got, does anyone have the dimensions? I've seen a few European and Japanese cars lately and they all appear to have the same shape and size rail as mine? Maybe it's now a universal size.
