Garth may have found an s 40 for sale in nz 88,600 ks from new sunroof etc safe buy? well what could be wrong at that mileage? manual heated seats.
lasercowboy "manual heated seats" - is that the type where you have to light a fire in your trousers? Joking aside, these are cracking cars in manual. If it's not been done, the front suspension bushings and wear parts will all need to be replaced, but that's comparatively cheap. Check the usual stuff like sunroof not leaking, regular oil changes, etc. Which engine? Some are significantly more desirable than others. Obv the T4 is the most appealing, but the 1.8 is pretty bulletproof if sluggish. I seem to recall that the one badged 2.0 (actually 1.9?) is not as good, but someone on here will know more.
Garth unsure only older volvo i managed to locate over there its 2 litre manual 97 so an early one but the mileage and gearstick makes it attractive
egads (she/her) I think it is a 2.0t with an m56 so is definitely a good choice as long as it isn't obviously falling apart.
Chris Oops couldn't see the turbo signage without my readers lol. Dual Speedo suggests it has done 88,000 miles not km. So 142,000 km
Chris If a UK import, spec will likely be quite different from our cars so you will have to check carefully to see if anything matters to you or not. Says it has a current warrant of fitness which is something given it is out of rego.
Spac Early 2.0T in manual is pretty bulletproof. No VVT, the good gearbox, etc - it avoids the more likely points of failure. Usual disclaimers about timing belts and basic maintenance apply.
