The heater core had a crack in it and leaked out. This is the start of my coolant leaking nightmare. The hoses are now joined bypassing the heater core. I will check it out.

It's a cycle on old cars I found! You fix the water pump and radiator and it finds the weak spot.

Not easily.. You're better off getting a T5 box from an AU Ford, which has a longer extension housing, meaning the shift lever enters the cabin at the correct place when fitted. Look for boxes with the tag number WR2A-7003-AA, or at least having an extension housing with part number 0557-866906, which will be the correct length.

That one for sale looks like an EA to EL box because the extension housing is so short, so the shift lever would likely end up on the 940's ashtray / fusebox.

An AU falcon t5 box is the best option for a 740 and 940 with a b230. I am doing adaptor plates soon also. The other step with an au box is to have the input shaft modified.

Ok awesome. It is definitely worth looking into. My m46 is annoying. I am going to try new engine and gearbox mounts and new selecter bushings to see if I can get it to shift better through 1st and 2nd. I have already had it flushed and new oil. Or look at a new gearbox. Apparently Berrys has m90s on the way for around $1200 landed aswell. But the falcon box seems like a more feasible solution.

Todays issue is the idle. When I foot on clutch it drops to very low revs and then fluctuates up and down. When I'm driving at a constant speed I notice the revs fluctuating up and down along with the turbo giving little spikes.. vacuum leak somewhere?

Thanks for that info mate. The AU box in that link does have matching part numbers. So that means the shifter will enter the cabin ok.
I think I’m going to buy it.

What is the stock CBV like on a 15g? Is it worth getting a new Kinugawa or ipdusa CBV with varying springs?? I intend to run 15lbs

You're looking for an au box, they are all tremecs. Earlier boxes will have the wrong shifter position.

Borg Warner = BTR Engineering = Tremec when it comes to T5 boxes.

(aside) They're a bit like the NSW Railways, who are the same old crowd that change their brand name a lot, instead of making sure the crappy foreign trains they buy actually fit on the existing tracks and in the tunnels... (/aside)

Speaking / writing of tunnels, as VQ wrote, you'e after an AU Ford box, which will have a gear leaver exit your trans tunnel at the correct place.

Literally, any au falcon 6 cylinder box. Then the input shaft is modified like the t5 swap tutorial has the info on.

I never had trouble with the stock CBV on a 15g running at 14psi. If you're not sure of the condition of yours, you may well decide that it's simpler to just buy the IPD one and be fine with it. The ultimate solution would be to block off the CBV port and run an adjustable BOV.
