Volvo V60 R Design wagon 2011 model

Hi all,

I am new on here and a first time Volvo owner.

I have scored myself a 2011 Volvo V60 T6 R design wagon.

I wanted to know if it is possible to replace the existing dashboard with the tft digital cluster?

AND

Is it possible to upgrade the automatic shifter to the modern one that you can find in 2013 models upward?

I have no idea about the things you ask but you never know! A peep will chime in soon enough with some knowledge.
Sounds like a fun car that one.
Maybe one day I will get out of a 90s car.

On item 1
Technically yes... but your talking about swapping over most of the Modules and a total can bus reload and a few other things
Your easily talking >$5k in work without thinking about it much

On item 2
Technically yes again... but it involves replacing the shifter cables and a pile of other things because of the change of which side you push the shifter to drop it into manual mode (swapped from right to left)

Nice vehicle.

I can see why you'd like to make the cluster swap - I'll shoot you a PM.

With the shift knob, there may be a more efficient (but expensive) route of installing the Polestar performance part.
It's not the actual shifter found in the later model Polestar variants (with the clear & blue backlighting)
But a better looking version than what you've got

You'll need to check with volvo to see if they have a polestar performance part for your VIN or look for a 2013 RHD shift knob

Shame they haven't fixed the backward shifting for manual mode in these current models.
I'm almost tempted to hack mine.

BTW - I understood the manu-mode was always on the LH side of the shifter for us.
i.e. located to the left for all RHD cars from 2011 to current models

understood it was only the Americans & LHD models that got all bent out of shape when Volvo standardised for the manu mode on the left of the shifter

I meant forwards to upshift and pull back for downshifts. It's more natural to be pushing forwards for downshifts when braking hard as your weight is shifting forwards.
BMWs early steptronic was backwards but they sorted it out very quickly

The digital instrument cluster will physically fit but not sure if a simple download will make it work.

The shifter is a direct replacement with no issues. a 2013 complete shifter has the same lit shifter as the Polestar but is white lit or the 2014 or later shifter with the illuminated pattern can also go in but the shifter assembly will need the electronic circuit board attached from the donor car.

I had Craig Rasmussen modify an electronic circuit board for my XC60 back in 2010 on my 3 month old car to reverse the direction of the manual mode. The 2014 and later cars have paddles so I haven't bothered to do that to my Polestar.
