gavinh pauljloz;98627 wroteOK - if no spark (not just the voltages indicated) - that's a problem too! That voltage at the coil is OK. Check for spark, cap and leads. Google "Volvo TP 31397-1 Ignition-OCR.pdf" for some detailed ignition troubleshooting info. Its for 740 models but covers the 82MY B28E with TSZ ignition. Just printing it out the now
volvodriverman I've had 2 seperate prv engines do something similar & in both cases the rotor button had been dodgy. There was the faintest hairline fracture in one & the other was kinda melty. Worth a shot.
gavinh Yep, just ran it up to temp and then stalled, checked for continuity at the impulse sender, nothing, so that seems to be the issue.
gavinh gavinh;98780 wroteLooks like the sender not the easiest of things to find, back at work for 2 weeks now so will have to wait and I will have to continue procrastinating if I do or if I don't
gavinh If any one is interested I found these links for the B28, delete if not appropriate http://www.europartsinc.com/index.php/delorean-dmc-12/delorean-manuals
gavinh Hi guys I have being trying to find a ellusive impulse sensor, (Hall pickup sensor). I'm gonna have a guess that they aren't the same as the 240/740? Does anyone know if berry's or any were else I can get them from in aus? Cheers Gav
pauljloz I'll stop now ... v6 may be different. Does it match the one in your car? I was basing my comment on 4cyl. Check the parts lists at 240.se for accurate details. Painful but usually accurate.
gavinh Yeah I know what you mean. This looks to be the right but I haven't stripped down the inlet manifold to have a proper look. As im fifo I only get a week at home every 3weeks. So it's only what I can reference to in manuals etc
