jamesinc we are probably going to convert it to AW71 instead.
Not sure if you've ridden this rodeo before, but you'll need a AW7x shift lever, the shifter rods of the correct lengths for a 240, a transmission crossmember, and if you're lucky, there should be the bolt holes in the correct place under the car for the AW7x crossmember.
For the speedo drive, you can use the back end of the dead BW55 if the AW7x has the smaller type of rear bearing. Early non-speedo AW7x transmissions had a big spacer in there instead of the speedo gear.
ETA - Plus the shorter front tailshaft of course (to state The Bleedin' Obvious).
