Ansett747 | Jonathan Last year I was driving on Overton Road and Skye. I spotted two Volvo's which are 740 GL. One was blue and white!! It was very rare to see that! ❤️ Also does anyone know who owns a red Volvo 740 GL club rego who was driving to Volvo Mitchem. I gave a horn as a special greet. ??
Ansett747 | Jonathan My Volvo 740 is finally roadworthy approval! I gonna transfer my name very soon. They fixed the braking fluid, secured battery, rack ends, front brake pads, lens and secure latch boot. They also fixed the AC because the belt was missing. ?
Major Ledfoot Is that a clip that holds the carpet trim piece (above the door lock) to the door card?

Major Ledfoot They are part number 1318217-5. https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/products/Volvo/Clip/1116231/1318217.html If you want OE, Volvo Parts Webstore has 'em for $1.41 USD each. This mob has 'em, too. https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/60628/Door-Panel-Clip-1318217/ As does Skandix. http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/body/bootlid-bonnet-doors-sunroof/doors/panelling/clip-panel-door-panel-decor-attachment/1020890/ But Voluparts don't! Although they have lots of other handy 700/900 bits, including the 1347754 for the handbrake hole, of which I've never seen an intact one. http://store.voluparts.com/volvo-740-interior-parts/ Tasca claim they have them, but Tasca lie a lot and I'll never try to do business with those crooks again.
Ansett747 | Jonathan My Volvo sometimes doesn't change to 4th gear when I reach 80Km/h. I checked the arrow 4th Gear Override and it's not causing the problem. The problem started after the major repair and the AC belt fitted.
Ansett747 | Jonathan New update for my Volvo 740 GL 1989, I'll be taking my Volvo to mechanics for minor repair and diagnose next month. The revolution need to be fixed when driving more than 60 KM/H. The clicking noise needs to be gone, it clicks every second when I drive forward. Every time I sharp turn left and right. I keep on hearing skidding noise! At least, the air-condition works except the whistling noise need to stop! xD I have to get that fixed soon.
Ansett747 | Jonathan Vee_Que;c-141840 wroteHow sharp a turn? Maybe your tyres are bald? It never happened before after road worthy repairs. Like 90 degrees turn and u-turn 180 degrees. xD
Ansett747 | Jonathan Volvo 740 GL 1989 Repaired from Volvo Masons - Overdrive is repaired and re-wired - Clicking noise was caused by wheel plates
Ansett747 | Jonathan Volvo 740 GL 1989 Repaired from motor class system - Installed new muffler and exhaust system (Old exhaust was rusting very bad!)
Ansett747 | Jonathan New updates for my Volvo 740 GL 1989 - 4 New Supercat Tyres - Wheels completely aligned and the skid sound was caused by badly aligned wheels. - Installed Dash cam - Getting 2nd hand trims from Barry Motors Group
Ansett747 | Jonathan I've installed the dash cam and it was pretty easy except the old trim completely cracked and destroyed! Lucky Berry Motors have one spare and gave me one for free because it's very fragile to install it. I will soon let the electrician hard wire one cable to a cigarette connection inside the fuse box when I have a good condition dash cap in the future. I could let the electrician to install it and keep the old dash cap but it might pick up a huge crack when fitting it back. My dad is VERY fussy with the side trims the thin thing on the trim is peeling off from the weather but I will soon look for spare trims for both sides with same colour scheme.
Ansett747 | Jonathan Just a short notice about the 2nd fan facing at the radiator where's the Volvo Grill is at. I do not see the 2nd fan spin when the car is running. I might get the electrician to check and it doesn't affect the air-con.
Ansett747 | Jonathan I've upgraded a new dash cam to Navman. I had uniden but the quality sucks really bad!
Ansett747 | Jonathan New updates on my Volvo 740 GL...- Car alarm system installed- Garmin and dashcam hardwired - Clog wheel replaced with a 3D printed made in Hungary- Dash lights bulbs to blue LED- New Blower motor thanks to the user in Tasmania.
Ansett747 | Jonathan I had to adjust the speedometre five times because the speed was not matching my GPS.The blue LEDs illuminates pretty well on the instrument dashboard!
