Hi Snoopy (or should I say Les), thanks for reaching out to me per this ad. I have been a member of the volvospeed forum for a number of years and I am glad to see a good network of Volvo fans down under.

I have been interested in getting 140 Series for a number of years and now that I relocated back home to Melbourne, I am ready to find one to call my own. I have owned an early 240, 850, V70 and s40 and they were all truly great cars. Due to the styling, I am mostly interested in the 142 1969-1972 years and would prefer the carb. variant. Although that being said, I would still be interested in a 142/144 in the 73-74 years.

Please let me know if you know of anyone that would be interested in letting one go!

Ben2, I have a '69 142S. VERY good bodyshell, has been off the road since 1979. Got painted in the early 80s, paint is failing due to age - could be repaired, but I'd respray again.

Motor isn't fitted, but the included motor is a 2-litre B18 with R-sport copy extractors and a few other fun bits. Made 71kW ATW with a very sad pair of Strombergs.
4-speed.
Freshly re-cored radiator.

Also has bits to make it handle properly: big front sway bar, Bilsteins, 164E front brakes, etc.

$1200 ono for the lot. Am willing to seperate/down spec for even less money.
In Yass, southern NSW. Might be able to help with delivery, if that matters.

Hi Nathan, I actually saw your post in the for sale section the other day. I think I will wait to see if I can source one that is assembled at this point, but maybe we can talk in the near future if its still available? I do love that 1969 body though! Where has it been stored since the 80's?

For the money id get his and assemble. It's not a big job and you know how it's gone together. Assuming you're a handy type which generally people should be in owning old cars

I got it three(?) years ago. Until then, it had been in a garage in Sydney.

Since then, it has variously been in a machinery shed under a cover, and outside under a cover.
Bearing in mind that Yass is a dry place, away from the salt air, it has not deteriorated appreciably.
