It's been sitting for a few months while uni has taken priority. Currently chasing a few remaining parts and planning to get the bodywork and paint finished soon (finally!). Looking at getting on roads before the end of January

Cool! When a few of us get our 145's on the road we must meet up for a photo shoot to set a guiness book world record for the largest 145 gathering. Stupid idea, but lets do it! Would be a laugh.

Biggest in the southern hemisphere at least! Maybe organise it in conjunction with a k-jet meet haha

Bruny Island ferry, less than two weeks after repairing the 16valve engine after a timing belt failure haha
Another great feature of the 145, non-interference!

If I decide to use djet rather than kjet in mine will I still be able to come along? I love the djet and m41 combination, and I don't know of any Australian survivors with the setup.

I've never even seen an operational 4 cylinder djet system.

I have one working, one as a complete engine, and enough bits for probably two more. And two complete kjet setups. Decisions to make. Both systems are old and rediculous by modern standards, but that is why I think they are so great. Then again I also love su carburettors.

Quick update, now have a (mostly) orange 145 Volvo

Next jobs in a long list are finish installing engine&drivetrain and have windscreen fitted

You certainly are winning - that new paint looks fantastic.

@bigal has also made major progress. Meanwhile, I have yet to attack the rust on mine.

Projects take much longer than we expect!
The paint has come up better than I'd hoped. Looks much better in person and hasn't even been polished yet. Lots of work getting to this point.

Found a few minutes today to reassemble most of the engine. Labels and organised fittings make this job much easier.
Getting all the k-jet wires repaired and hoses organised was exciting!

Windscreen and windows now installed!
I decided to go for a different method of windscreen retention because while chrome trim is pretty, the clip retention system is not.
Also the bonnet now has release mechanism.

New jobs are to repair leaky heater core so that the interior can be reassembled.

Appreciate the comment. It was the right decision for this project.
Similar thinking was applied to filling the hacked out radio antenna hole on the front guard.
Seemed like a more complete repair.

Eliminates one of the common rust points and my ears reckon cut a lot of road noise.
How is the djet going?

This is a k-jet beast!
I needed to rebuild the fuel distribution block to get the plunger moving smoothly and clean bad fuel residue out of every crevice of the fuel system.
Currently starts fairly easily, revs, idles.
The tune definitely needs more refinement which will probably happen once the heater is hooked up properly and cleaned up some more fatigued wiring.
