Just picked up my 2008 C70 T5 Auto, only had it for a few hours but I love it. I test drove a few before buying this one. It is in very good condition, and I will leave it alone for a while, but no doubt will be making it my own in the near future.
One thing that made me buy this one is that it goes great, much better than the other two T5s I tested by a long way, throttle response is very good, and I can chirp the tyres pulling away easily before the traction control cuts in, which I was not able to do on the other ones I tested. I heard of the Polestar upgrades, and was wondering if there was anyway of telling it has the upgrade.
I'm going to install a Pure Highway 300DI, had one in my previous car, works fantastic for IPod / IPhone /Pandora etc control and although the Digital Radio signal is not that strong yet, it works fine around Brisbane.
It is quite a change from my previous car, a Land Rover Defender 110, sold that as I have built a Mercedes Benz Unimog expedition truck, I also have a Discovery 3 TDV6. This will be the "play car" and the first convertible I have ever owned.
Previous cars include a highly modified Audi S4, Jaguar XJ-S and Supra MA61 with the 3lt Turbo from the MA70.
I'll put up some photos of the C70 tomorrow.

Welcome! I like these. Bought a V50 because I wanted a wagon but no doubt the C70 is a nice ride.

I had a 1985 V12 , which caught fire, and then a black 1982 V12 and I bought a wrecked 1996 model, fitted the interior, electronic dash, doors to it. I had 17" XJ Sport wheels, with a TWR body kit. Best of all was the 4L80E transmission with a programmable TCU including paddle shifts and a few "go faster" modifications. It would do
0-100 in 5.5 seconds :)

I like the late interior, and the late tails actually, doing it that way sounds good, so you had a 6l in it as well or just the box from the 96?

Just the 5.3, but with a lot of mods. I had a 3.31 diff, and it would be easy to smoke the tyres :) I kept the original rear end, but added a rear infill panel.

any pics of the MA61?

Can't find any, sorry.

I noticed one of my headlight was not focusing correctly. It worked but did not have the sharp cut off light the other one did. It was the drivers side, and had been adjusted down so as not to blind the oncoming traffic. After taking it apart seems like something had happened to the light, the left/right adjuster was broken, just glued in place and fiddling around it seemed like the Bi-Xeon mount would not hold the globe in properly, looked like a small part had broken off. I got a second hand LH headlight from a wrecker in Melbourne, the Xeon part was good, but the bottom of the housing where the mount is was cracked. I swapped over the whole Bi-Xeon unit and now the headlights have the same sharp cut-off.
I also fitted a Pure Highway 300 DAB/iPod controller to the car I got from the UK for about $100, It works great through the AUX port and lets me connect my IPhone/Ipod or a USB stick and play through the sound system. I'll have to sort out the DAB aerial, as the one I had doesn't work with the convertible top. Probably have to get an internal windscreen mount one, in the meantime, the DAB aerial is in my seat pocket and it works great when the top is down, but not so good with the top up. I use it mainly as a USB or IPod controller, and it works great. The iPod/USB is in the glovebox, so can be locked away.
I fitted the display to the centre console so I can see it through the steering wheel, and it is within easy reach, but not noticeable from outside the car. The display unit un-clips to hide away if necessary. I did not want to mess around with any of the wiring because of the CANBUS system, I decided to run the main power from the 12V plug in the boot, and the ignition power from the 12V plug in the console. Whilst I had the centre console out, I fitted another 12V accessory plug and USB charger behind waterfall console, so I could run a the Garmin GPS and charge a phone without having wires coming out of the console under my arm.
I also bought a rear wind deflector from a company in Germany, for $290 delivered, it doesn't fold down like the OEM ones, but it works well, and fits in the boot with the top up. It works great, cuts the buffeting down to next to nothing with the windows up at 110kph, and good enough at 80kph with the windows down.
Really starting to love this car, handles nicely, very quiet with the top up and great to drive top down especially in the early evening, and the sound system is just fantastic.
