BBQ / picnic area is open to the elements, so you will need to bring sunscreen, umbrella or gazebo. Seating and tables are also in limited supply.
It would be good if someone could bring a gazebo for us to sit under out of the sun, if you can assist with this, please let me know. Thank you.
If you're bringing the kids, there's a big playground and miniature train rides about 5 minutes walk from where the BBQ is happening. There's also shared pedestrian and cycle paths too. The park is also home to kangaroos, so if your kids are out and about, be sure they are cautious if they see any, as they can and have been known to attack if they feel threatened.
The cruise at 3 pm is optional, but features quite a variation of terrain in a small area. With a wrap up for photos at the end, at Mt Stromlo Observatory, you can also check out the displays there and there's a cafe as well. I was going to put this in near the start but I think it'd be better afterwards as it gives anyone interested in what they do a good chance to check it out.
Please keep a copy of the driving directions for it, and bring it with you.
