I have 5 Virgo wheels I purchased to put on my 740GLE but unfortunately they won't go on my ABS fitted 1990 model. They apparently do fit non-ABS 740s and will fit all the 240s AFAIK.
They're in pretty good condition and cleaned up ready for sandblasting. I'll get some photos up tomorrow.
$250 for all five.

Virgos are ET20 and the shape of the spokes is the issue here. 740 wheels are generally ET25 for genuine volvo wheels.
There are a few options that will work though. A volvo wrecker should have a few to choose from.

I know there are workarounds but I have arranged for some Dracos for Inga and have a buyer for the Rigels on her now. Need the space in garage.

Workaround really is different wheels. :)

Virgos don't fit the front of 940s (and later 740s, I assume) due to the rim being too small in diameter to clear the caliper.
The issue is that Virgos have the rim 'on backwards' - the tyre is fitted from the inboard side of the rim, not the outside like 99% of other wheels. This means that the valley in the rim section's smaller diameter sits over the caliper - so unless you can fit a 14" wheel over the brakes, Virgos won't fit either.
FWIW.

I tried to fit Virgo's to a 760T once, they don't fit, my observations were:
They won't fit over the calipers of Turbo and V6 models with the 11.25" rotors, nor will they fit over the 940 brakes I upgraded to later.
They will fit earlier NA 740's with 10.25" rotors, even though the calipers are the same as used on the bigger rotors, as the caliper bridge places the caliper closer to the hub. Generally any pre '90 NA 740 without ABS will have these brakes.
The area of the rim that contacts the caliper is actually the small reinforcing rib on the inside of each spoke, where the spokes merge into the rim.
On the Turbo/V6 models with Bendix two piston calipers, it may be possible to grind down the cooling fins a bit to provide enough clearance, but I'm not sure.

I use mine to hold down the tarp on the firewood...

I still have the virgos for sale - $250 pickup on the Gold Coast.
See above photos for their condition.

My sister had a facelift '90 740 wagon and it had Virgos on it....they shouldn't have fit but they did.
I swapped them for steels before she sold it.

I'm wondering if your Virgo wheels are still available. Would you please let me know?
OldnDecrepit
Yes the Virgos are still here.

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I just became aware that this is an Australian Volvo forum. I'm in the U.S., which, unless I'm mistaken, would make it unfeasible (i.e., expensive) to ship such a large and heavy item as a Virgo wheel. Sorry!
OldnDecrepit
Yes, very unfeasible!

@wdlr , it shouldn't be hard to find them over there , junk yards and Turbobricks or Volvo speed classified ads may help.

Virgos are still for sale, now $150 for all five as I need the room.
Pickup on the Gold Coast.
