Hi everyone!
I was wondering what the parts compatibility on 240 series was? for example, would a drivers door from a 1980 240 fit on a 1985 model?
Thanks :)
Vee_Que
Yes. They are the same from 75-93 effectively.

Are there any changes you'd have to make? i've heard that if you used a 91-93 door on a 1985 model you have to change over the locks? is this true?

You'd have to change the locks anyway, surely, so the keys match. But even if that is the case, which I don't think it is, but even if it is, it's trivial to do.

The lock design, in both the body and the door, changed for the 1978 model year. The key barrel mounting and barrel design was also beefed up, I think at the same time.
You will have no problems swapping doors between an '80 and an '85 model.
These cars have lots of parts that stayed the same for the entire production run, and just as many that changed multiple times in that period. Often the different types can be swapped around easily, sometimes it presents big problems.
If you ask about specific parts (like you have done) people will be able to help out.

The door latches on the earlier (70s) doors are different and I believe they aren't a straight swap. I can't recall the exact change over year but @Angus242164 might be able to help here.

@240Joe looks like Angus beat you to it ?
