LH2.2 missing under load (sometimes)

Long story short, lh2.2 in a 240 turbo, has an occasional miss coming onto full boost. Most noticeable uphill and at low revs. On the flat it's almost always fine and pulls hard.

I'm taking a reasonable guess that it's the plug leads (new plugs went in last weekend which made a big difference but still not perfect). Any other guesses as to what it might be? I'm running fuel pumps from a kjet 240 at the moment which to my knowledge should have enough flow, and given that it clears as the revs rise I'm thinking it's probably not fuel related (although it wouldn't be my first time being wrong about something)

Sounds like you have slightly weak spark, and when the engine requires strongest spark (low revs/high load) it's starting to misfire and become noticeable.

It's most likely the leads, cap and rotor. If that doesn't fix it the coil is probably failing, that's pretty rare on these cars though.

Pretty much my thoughts. I'm pretty sure the cap and rotor are reasonably recent so will start with leads and work from there.

If you take the old leads in to the parts store they can give you generics of the same length. Much cheaper than buying a Volvo specific set. Sorry if obvious - i went for a long time without realising this though!

They have the dimensions and fittings on file for all rwd cars and their engine configurations.
10mm silicon leads $60, including two spares made at the longest lead size. I'll be getting a set for the 142 also.

They do all styles from really vintage/vetran style up to modern silicon. And in various thicknesses.
