VolvoDeger
i will speak to him for you
Phoenix
I just called Berry's and they told me they don't work on that particular model of transmission. I will try calling Billia and Altitude Volvo if I am unable to come across other specialist.
Phoenix
Some other mechanic also stated that the XC90 T6 came with either a 5 speed or a 6 speed transmission???
Ex850R
Voldat Moorabbin.
Biliary or altitude will say new gearbox I bet and it will cost more than a gold plated Volvo through them.... Do t bother.
Phoenix
Most mechanics I called don't even work on or supply this type of transmission. I'm not going to let the non-Volvo mechanic who has ripped me off before win again. I already once paid him $6000 for an engine he claimed was low kilometer and was in "good" condition when its hydraulic lifters are screwed up.

2006+ T6 (totaly different motor) used the 6 speed
AW55 5 speed only used on T5 models
Ex850R
Oh!
That's not good.
Did you go back to them with the issue to resolve it?
Maybe @VolvoDeger can do it for you, he may have PMed you with his phone number already.

@Vee_Que
Who was your trusted transmission guy in melb?
Phoenix
And to make things worse, this mechanic who ripped me off before gave me dud turbo chargers which I will again pay another $1000 for labor and probably another $1000 for the 2 turbos towards him just to replace the faulty parts he put in there at the beginning of this year.
Philia_Bear
Are you sure its not cheaper to just trade it on a non fucked same year t6 xc90
Or
Trade up on a 2007+ d5/v8 xc90?
VolvoDeger
yes just done a t6 six two weeks ago and another last week with one waiting to be done problem is always that the filter can't be serviced as the box needs to be split into two. This is where the filter is between the the two cases
Ex850R
Please call. Voldat.
You may have had the work done by VOLVPARTS I imagine.
They are not the same place at all.
I would get legal advice on that place.
Ghettobird
It sure wasn't Voldat selling you the T6 Motor, we have never even wrecked and sold one of thoes generation of motors
We don't deal in wrecking XC90s
Ex850R
That mechanic you went to needs to be exposed in a court of law I reckon...
VolvoDeger
once done fit a external filter which helps, also I say to people if no external cooler fitted fit one because if radiator shits itself pumping coolant into auto you have no warranty....2 year warranty supplied on these auto rebuilds

In order to tackle these issues legally the customer needs to first go back to the business that did the defective work or supplied defective parts within the warranty period (for the parts) and within a reasonable time period (for the labour), to give them the opportunity to correct the issues.
If they refuse at this point, or work on the car but fail to rectify the problems, you can take them to VCAT.
If you take the car to another workshop to get the issues fixed, you won't be able to recover any costs from the first workshop, as you didn't give them a chance to rectify the problems.
You have to be careful to follow correct procedure from start to finish or VCAT will have to rule in favor of the workshop. You may also need an independent automotive engineer to inspect the car and report on the issues, as evidence that the issues exist.
VolvoDeger
why do you say they are dud turbo's? or is there another issue
Philia_Bear
VolvoDeger;93358 wrotewhy do you say they are dud turbo's? or is there another issue
I think the origional workshop has said they are dead, weather they are dead or not is a totaly different question :-)
VolvoDeger
