Alternative to Plastic Wheel Covers

My 1992 240 sedan has the original 14 inch steel wheels.I like them except for the crappy plastic covers.Not particularly interested in getting mag-style wheels as the expense would be equivalent to what the entire car is worth!
Does anybody have any ideas?

A set of 15" alloys are worth $300-400 from another 240 or a 740. I bet your car is worth More than that. If not, I'll buy it off you for that much :P

Otherwise, take hubcaps off and paint the steel wheels silver.

As Vee_Que said, paint the wheels silver - alternatively there might be a way to fit the metal hub caps from an earlier 240. I might be making this up but I think @lasercowboy did this?

However as above, 15" alloys are definitely affordable. I have a set of 5 Virgos that I'm looking to sell soon if you're interested.

Oh yes, you can fit the small centre caps from the earlier cars also. But painting of the rim helps with them too.

or chrome trim rings, can look good with gun metal metallic steel wheels.

Get a $15 can of satin black wheel paint from Autobarn, spray paint your steelies black, and get the hubcaps from Angus. I did for my 240, and super happy with the result!
