Ex850R I suggest buying waste oil from a workshop, that way you get the best and worst of all the above oils, you know it works cos they all thought they had the best and you can't go wrong. Or from a chip shop. Sarcastic or good advice? You be the judge. Anytime this question is asked nobody is any the wiser cos too many conflicting advices, makes for fun reading though.... My only real advice is to not get the dirty black oil on you when you pull the sump plug! :-)

Ex850R Magnet plug! Stick in a big screwy and it hops on. Really dislike the toxic smell though. I think I am more sensitive to crap like that now. Doing all fluids change and filter leaves me unwell for a bit. Good stuff! Anyone do remote filter housings? Maybe a valve on the sump dump plug too? Not much room on a P80 but 2 series a doddle I reckon. *musings from when lying under car watching oil drain.....
Ex850R or a magnet on a string tied near the drain , it swings out of the way! Yay , i might do that.
Ex850R tbro;92809 wroteand then swing back and clouts ya in the noggin Of course! Wear safety specs...
bigal Do away with drain plugs and washers and get a Fumoto valve. Now is the time to ask santa (the misus or kids) for one.. http://fumoto.com.au
tissueboxonwheels Yes, I changed the oil and using a Castrol 20/50 oil. I figure that its coming to Summer so the weather is going to be very hot and it would be good to have a thicker oil. When the weather cools down In Autumn I will switch to a lighter oil. I'm toying with the idea of using synthetics but I don't know whether the change over will be detrimental to the old engine.
