I'm looking for a tan/light brown centre console for a late 240 (the bit around the handbrake).

That's a handbrake console - the centre console is the bit around the stereo/hvac.
If you get stuck finding a second hand one, someone in the states bought the molds and is casting them new - they're about $150. I can dig out the link if you get stuck.

Thanks for the clarification, I've adjusted the title accordingly.
I'll let you know if I need the link, I'll try and track down a second hand one first. The one I have at the moment is fine, but it was replaced by the previous owner, and is the wrong colour (it's dark blue instead of tan).
So I'm not in a hurry.

I'm in the market for one of these too - I'll probably buy a new one off ebay. All the breakers I have spoken to say the console has had it in theirs as well. It's an age/UV/poor design issue.
