Have any mainlanders booked to come to Tassie on the 28th?

My 145 needs its bushes all replaced before it will get road worthy. It will not pass inspection as it is. I have all the brakes sorted now so getting there. Going to be cutting it fine to have it ready by 28th now but can always take the xc90.

@1971_144GL 's 142 may not be ready either but can arrange hopefully another Volvo to bring along.

@bgpzfm142 have you booked? If so then lets do the camping trip.

@rik should be in as all his Volvos work.
I was trying to get my 142 ready, only to find very low compression on number 3. No obvious cause yet, so it looks like cylinder head removal is on the to do list now. Not sure the car will make it. Still, it will be fun anyway to catch up an talk Volvo.

Beer, steak, volvos n strippers by the lake.
Longford in the late morning on 28th for coffee then head up the hill for an explore and setup.

Looking forward to it.

@bigal -with the date fast approaching, it is time to talk of plans.

Where is the meeting spot in Longford on the 28th? And have you chosen a camp site?

Are there hotels nearby the planned camping area? (i.e within 20 miles, as my missus can't do camping)

Eagerly awaiting details...
Ok.. I recommend here if camping in a tent isn't doable.. http://greatlakehotel.com.au

I'm keen to do the tent so will look for a site close to the hotel.

I honestly am not familiar with the great lakes area so part of the trip is to go and explore.

Longford bakery on main road through the centre of the town (you can't miss it) for a coffee meet up then head towards the mountain from there. I'm easy regarding times so let me know what works for you guys. I was thinking 10am on the 28th.

Will hit google maps now for a good camp site.

Well some have dropped out. Looks like we'll postpone it.

Few reasons.. my sciatica has flared up again and can't honestly say I'll be right for saturday.

@1971_144GL and I unfortunatly don't have old volvos ready to take. Mine still not legal and his dropped compression on a cylinder.

My brother has a gig on saturday night so he can't come along now.

@bgpzfm142 is coming down, here tomorrow and we're keeping in touch. We're going to have a catch up here in launy and view cars at my place then take him over to our storage collection room and head to a cafe or something like that if he's keen.

@darcher93 you cool if we postpone? I really want to take my 145 up there when it's ready. I wasn't sure who else was keen. If I find out heaps of people were planning on it then lets do it.

Last minute people wanting to make this still happen then please reply.
That would be good @bigal
I only just found out tonight that I have an important practice match on the weekend that I have to attend and otherwise wouldn't be able to start heading up north until after 5:30. So that works out perfectly. Keep us posted!
Let's see if we can do a Friday Night Hang (Launceston Edition) or Saturday Cars 'N' Coffee or something.
Sounds good! Will PM my mobile.
I'm in (on?) Tassie for about 3 weeks from Mid Feb - early March, travelling around... I might be able to twist wife's arm into a meet up...

Sounds like a good plan.

Wife and I had a very pleasant afternoon with @bigal & family and @1971_144GL, swapping tales of Volvos past and present. Shared a great meal with excellent coffee at a nice cafe on the edges of downtown.

Launy has quite gown on us, so much so that the missus and I are lead into temptation. There's even affordable residences with views and space, and ready to go with massive undercover space for cars and hoist! :) All within 15 minutes of town.

But alas, it is farewell to Launy today, to return another time.... in a 145.
Lonnie is a great place to live. Still working on getting my job moved to Tassie so we can be there or Hobart
@PaddlerEd Definitely, we'll catch up for sure.

@Major Ledfoot That was a very enjoyable catch up. Thank you to you and your wife for taking the time to hang out. Btw - got the porsche going. Bloody germans.. the black wire goes to positive on the fuel pump. A replacement fuse also helped! She's back with all 6 singing!

Earlier in the day I towed it back up to the top of the driveway with the 145..
