240 steelies question.

Hey all.

I have managed to get my hands on some 240 steelies and have noticed that there a few different types.

The ones I have are the ones below (1st pic) but need to know which chrome caps go with them or do all caps fit.

I have attached 2 different cap types I have found and need to know which ones will fit these wheels and how they fit.

Only a certain type of cap (later ones, with integral clips) fit. The early ones with separate clips won't. I think that's right but @jamesinc or @Angus242164 can confirm, as they advised me on this before I got mine from Angus!

Yep that's correct, I have another set of the caps shown in the second pic the same as a set I sold to Rico a while ago.

I think the change in wheels came with the 81 facelift.

Yeah it did, and that style of hubcap for the later wheels isn't overly common, having only been used on '81-'82 DL and GL, and '83-'84 DL.

After that everything had alloys for '85, and plastic hubcaps over those wheels from '86 onward.

The ones you have (first picture) take the large hubcaps (second picture). The third picture requires steelies with a ring of 5 clips around where the lug nuts go.

Thanks @timbo. Just freshened all the plastic trim and bumpers and now the wheels are letting me down.
