I'm looking for a B23ET or a late model B230FT bottom end, the ones with forged internals and 13mm rods and/or oil squirters, will happily buy a whole engine if need be, at the right price of course. I know someone must have a stockpile somewhere, come at me...
Cheers men.

There is a kit going round to drill the required holes for squirted using BMW squirters if I remember , who has it on loan from USA Turbobrickers or has bought a kit themselves I am unsure. I will ask on TB , maybe ask on Bruce thread yourself too.

I do know about that jig, squirt era don't really bother me that much, but if I can get one with them I will. Really need to just get a bottom end first.

I have a B23ET bottom end here, not really keen to sell it, but for the right money I'd let it go. Located in Western Victoria.

Contact volv- rek, they have plenty of engines @raebird

Ranging from $750

@Angus242164 what would be the right money mate?
@irishbastard thanks buddy, will check them out.

No probs, happy to help

I guess I'd let it go without much hesitation for $350, would consider lower offers but not too much lower. It was in good running condition when last used but has been in storage for five years, and k's were roughly 300,000, so it would really need a hone, rings and bearings before use, but that's a cheap and simple job on these engines.

I'd tentivly let my b230ft motor go too. 200, 000km serviced often in its life. Could compression test it too. Ive never thought of selling it but I do have a b230fd block too for another project..
Raebird
@angus242164 can you send me some pictures mate, assuming the head is off.
@veeque is it a squirter block? How many bills are attached to that tentativeness?
Vee_Que
Nope. 87' block. They are still strong enough if you don't run them lean like the Americans seem to manage. It also only has the smaller rods. Probably not the best then. ..
Raebird
Yeah, was at least wanting 13mm rods, because it will see a lot of higher rpm's.
Angus242164
Just tried to upload some pics, but my photo hosting site is down, will try again tomorrow.

Working now, pics can be seen on this page:

There's a light coating of surface rust on all the bores, so it definitely needs a hone.

Less weight in the rods. More revs :p its boost that kills them combined with poor tune. Gerry at a class in Sydney has a stock block engine like this in a 740 track car with no hassles still afaik.

@angus242164 thanks for the pictures, I will get back to you. Where in west Vic are you?
Angus242164
No worries, I'm near Avoca, but work in Ballarat so can easily get it there, and I make occasional trips to Melbourne.
