My mum has been driving my dad's car for awhile now. And the Volvo 240 is still registered in his name. He died 10 years ago from cancer despite being a health nut.
I advised her to go down to Vicroads and get it re-registered transferred to her name. I'm just worried in the event of an accident or something she will be in some strife as the car is not legally in her name.
Anyone has done this before?

Done in Tas and NSW and is the easiest thing I have ever done with a motor registry

Did you have to provide a road worthy cert?

Just call VicRoads they will step you through the requirements

Its for spouse. My dad passed away 10+ years ago. They both share the same address. He left a will passing it all to mum. But no mention of the Volvo.

Last time I was in vicroads, person at desk next to me was asking abut transferring a car to their spouse. Apparently really simple and no roadworthy or vehicle duty required.

Yup. We went to VICRoads. They want to see a death cert and a copy of the will, which may have been thrown away by accident along with dad's other stuff. He passed away many many years ago.
