Camry sportivo is humble 4cyl, but the model up in the range gets the V6 vvt motor and this is a very sweet performer.

I often wonder the same thing and am genuinely surprised it hasn't happened.
A heap of the Supercar engine hardware is sourced ex-NASCAR suppliers anyway.

Toyota Australia must have a different marketing focus and perhaps a different target demographic that means they see no value in motorsport.

Valid point. They've certainly had a strong presence previously, a strong presence in the ARC up until the mid '00s.
Perhaps they just see no value in the (V8)Supercars class as a marketing tool?

The 86 racing series is interesting. Certainly not originally a direct Toyota initiative, they're making the most of it now.
It may turn out to be an interesting class - though I'm not convinced we need yet another class in Australian motorsport.

Absolutely correct. Motorsport is expensive and the AIS choose not to assist our up and coming stars of motorsport like they would a tennis player or track and field type athlete either.

I didn't add, but I really enjoy watching the porsche gt3 racing. The action is close and they are fast, and more interesting somehow than the v8s are...

GT3 is expensive but not as dear as taxi's. Your not paying for some investment group to make a profit, nor are you made to purchase the right to play nor are you told you must race or expect a massive fine.
In taxi's you have your hand in your pocket all the time, and its the only cat I know where the main supplier of certain components is your competition who is allowed to run the next generation units " for testing "
With Porsches the factory builds everything, dyno's it, make sure as far as humanly possible that failures are kept to a minimum, and don't charge that much for the cars in the first place. Its more about the driver and his or her ability to set up a car with their engineer, and think during the race. Tyres are cheap and last and the people involved generally are friendly and will help when you need it. Also you can still race the cars year after year, eventually ending up playing in Prodsports.
